19 Greta Grove House is a large two bedroom, two bathroom second floor apartment in the very popular Greta Grove House. The lounge boasts fabulous views over the River Greta towards the Skiddaw range and it has the benefit of a passenger lift for easy access.

Property Details

The front door leads to a large L shaped hallway with electronic building access and a hall cupboard for coat and shoe storage.

The kitchen is well equipped with an excellent range of utensils and equipment; crockery and glassware. It has a refrigerator and freezer, washing machine, electric oven and hob, microwave, slow cooker and dishwasher.

The lounge room has spectacular views over the River Greta and the Howrahs, to Latrigg and the Skiddaw range beyond. It has two sofas, a dining table and chairs for 4, Smart TV and an electric fire.

The Master Bedroom has a zip & link bed which can be either a Super King Bed or seperated into two singles (must be requested at time of booking) double wardrobe and chest of draws and an ensuite with a toilet, wash hand basin and electric shower. The second bedroom is also a double room with a chest of draws.

All beds have hypoallergenic duvets and pillows and good quality bedlinen. Towels are provided for guests and there is a hairdryer in each bedroom.

The family bathroom has a bath with shower over, toilet, wash hand basin and shaver point.

Greta Grove House is a quiet, low rise building with well-kept communal grounds, very close to the centre of Keswick. Booths supermarket is a minute’s walk away and you can be at Derwentwater and the Theatre by the Lake in 10 minutes. The apartment has a numbered parking space.

Perfect location! This flat is exactly what we wanted, especially the excellent lift. It is quiet, in a central location, near shops, buses, parks and Derwent Water. It is well equipped and a good size, with great views. We enjoyed, each morning looking out of the windows, seeing a cycle race, a family of pheasants, a river changing with the weather and the hills; looking different each day and even as the hours went by as the sunshine changed. The one issue we had was quickly resolved. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

Great quiet location with private parking, with views of the river Greta, and the fells. The best supermarket, bus terminal, walks, shops and access to everything one could wish for are all in the immediate vicinity. The apartment has been recently reburbished and is equiped with a full kitchen inventory and everything required for an any-weather holiday. We’ve stayed here before and hope to do so again.

Hytte was a superb property, well equipped, lovely and clean and with some super quirks and info relating to the owners and their nationality. Checking in information from KHH was clear and helpful and although we could not make use of it on this occasion, superb to be able to leave the car in situ for a few hours past check out time. As someone with allergies, I am always trying to source places to stay that do not allow pets so this property was a good find and immensely conveniently situated for the town and surrounds. We loved it.

The apartment was very clean. Location was great, just as described. The super king bed was very comfortable, and was one of the reasons for our choice. Aimee was very helpful in confirming access arrangements – I am a wheelchair user. I fully understand that the apartment was not advertised as accessible and we made our choice based on the photos and information available. However, in hindsight it was a mistake to book the apartment (no. 19) as it is not suitable for a wheelchair user. The doorways are only slightly wider than a standard wheelchair and the corridors are narrow, so it was difficult to negotiate. I could not use the kitchen or the bathroom in the super king room. I struggled to use the second bathroom, even using my walker. We had to move various bits of furniture, especially in the front room, to allow access. I found the settees too low to sit in so just sat in my wheelchair. The step into the lobby from outside is very difficult to negotiate as the self-closer spring is ridiculously strong. Access required a heavy bag to stop the door self closing and my wife helping to push over the entrance lip. In summary, I’m not criticising your apartment per se, but I suggest that any future tenants who say they are wheelchair users should be warned off, or advised about the difficulties of using the flat. Thank you.

Wow. What a week of fabulous weather we’ve had in Keswick. This was our second stay at ‘The Hytte, 19 Greta Grove House’ so we knew what to expect, and yet again, it didn’t disappoint. Excellent location for all the town has to offer. All amenities within a short walking distance. The flat is clean and comfortable and has everything you need for a self catering stay. If I could suggest an improvement for the kitchen, it would be to provide a three tier steamer. Being there for a week, we did quite a lot of cooking, and although there are a range of four saucepans, using the hob for a cooked dinner was a challenge. Being able to cook a range of veg etc on one hot plate would free up space and also reduce the apartments energy footprint at the same time.. We will certainly be back to stay at this address.

We loved our stay at The Hytte, 19 Greta Grove House. It was a little bit of hygge! The apartment was cosy, comfortable, well equipped and spotlessly clean. The electricity tripped a couple of times when we used the hob but there was no problem locating the fuse box and Aimee at KHH responded to my phone calls immediately. We’ve stayed in Keswick loads of times but this is our new favourite place to stay.
