There is a lot going on in keswick that week, so it is a great time to visit. Monday 28th August is the Keswick Agricultural Show at Braithwaite. It is an excellent opportunity to see some of the famous Herdwick sheep up close and personal, along with demonstrations of farming techniques, dog and horse shows and our favourite, a traditional Cumberland wrestling competition.

On 31st August, the National Trust are opening up Derwent Island for another Open Day – a rare chance to visit the house and gardens in the middle of the lake.

Keswick Museum also continues to produce some excellent activities, including a ‘Bog In A Box’ this week and the popular Life of A Mountain – Blencathra exhibition.
