January News

A happy new year to all our friends and visitors. We have had a lovely festive period in Keswick over the last few weeks, lots of visitors and plenty of fun activities in and around town, even if the weather proved a bit wild and windy at Christmas itself.  We really enjoyed the Emperor and the Nightingale Christmas performance at the theatre, the live advent events happening every day in town and seeing some great fireworks around the valley on New Year’s Eve. The new year started with a fabulous clear and bright day and walkers were out in force blowing away the holiday cobwebs.

Whats coming up in Keswick?
I thought it would be a good time to remind you of some upcoming events in the area in case you are planning a trip soon.
The Keswick Film Festival takes place from 16th-19th February. There are more than 20 films showing and special guest this year is Greta Scacchi who will be presenting 3 of the features. details here

Words By The Water festival takes place between 3rd– 12th March. It is a great opportunity to hear some really diverse speakers, from household names such as Chris Tarrant and Peter Snow to comedians like Mark Watson and writers such as Michael Rosen – if you’ve never experienced it, I highly recommend giving it a try; great fodder for the brain!

The Theatre is also hosting a brand new play about William Wordsworth from 1st April as part of their new 2017 season – tickets go on public sale next Monday, 9th January.

If you are interested in more physical activities, then the Keswick Mountain Festival organisers are taking bookings now for their swimming, running, triathlon and sportive events for the festival weekend 8 – 11 June see details here

As always, I would love to hear from you if you have some accommodation requirements. We still have some availability during January, February and March and can offer short breaks during these times too. We are getting excited about our new property, Latrigg View which is available now for bookings from April onwards (including convention weeks 1 and 3) and will be a popular new addition because of its great quality, central location and parking.

Whatever, you chose to do this year, we hope 2017 is good to you and hope to see you in Keswick soon.

Best wishes,

Angela
