The UK had its first named storm of the winter yesterday, but thankfully Angus decided to give the Lake District a wide berth for a change. We woke up here to sunshine and clear blue skies with the tops of the fells shining bright white after some snowfall over the last few days. The colours looked beautiful as there are still a lot of leaves on the trees so the autumn colours in the valleys contrasted with the snowy fells well. Time for a bracing walk along Catbells terrace to Grange for a cuppa and back along the lake – perfect Sunday!
If you are thinking of a winter break we still have all of our cottages available for a week from 31st December. New Year in Keswick is a fun time! If you have to get back to work early in the new year, then please contact us if a short break would suit you better- we will try to accommodate you.
Lilac Cottage has weeks of 10th and 17th December free and Howrahs Court is also free on 17th December – short breaks are also possible around these dates for both properties so do please get in touch.
See our individual cottage availability pages for when we have vacancies in January and February for a chance to see the fantastic winter landscapes for yourself.
