Update 24th June

We are very pleased to report that we are able to re-open from 4th July!

We have been working hard on enhancing our cleaning protocols so that we can reassure guests that we are following the government guidance and making our properties as Covid Secure as possible. We will publish our protocols as soon as they are finalised – government guidance is still being changed and published as we write this.

It is important that we all do what we can to avoid transmission of Covid-19 and all guests should follow the latest guidance about who may travel and stick to the social distancing rules and other requirements, including frequent handwashing.  We will provide hand sanitizer, soap and cleaning materials in every property.

Please do not travel if you or any of your party have symptoms of Covid-19. We are happy to roll your booking forward or provide a refund if Covid-19 prevents you from travelling. You must also contact us immediately if you develop symptoms whilst you are here.

Our availability is up to date  – we do have spaces still in July and August and into the Autumn period and we are accepting bookings now.

We look forward to welcoming you back to Keswick.

Update: 4th June 2020

We are currently closed until the 4th July.  We are expecting guidance from the government early next week, starting 8th June. This should provide an insight into exactly when we are able to re-open and what conditions we may need to have in place to open safely.

You can be reassured that when we do re-open, our usual very high standards of cleanliness will continue. Before lockdown, we had already instigated additional cleaning of shared surfaces/touch points such as keys and key safes, light switches, door, cupboard and window handles, TV remote controls etc. We will also adhere to any additional guidance set out next week.

If you are due to visit in the weeks following 4th July, we will contact you directly as soon as we have news about your visit.

We have been receiving calls and enquiries from customers, so here are some answers to the frequently asked questions we have had:

Are you taking bookings?

Yes, our booking system is live and availability is up to date. You can book online up to 12 months in advance and for dates beyond that, you can call us to book.  We are currently taking July bookings on a provisional basis until it is clear that we can re-open. Bookings beyond July are working as normal.

Please take note of government guidance regarding mixing households etc when you are booking accommodation.

What happens if Government restrictions are still in place when I am supposed to be visiting?

If your holiday is affected by Government restrictions / lockdown in place we will either move your booking to a future date or provide a refund.

What If lockdown is eased but I would rather not travel?

If it is your choice not to come on holiday we can cancel your booking and refund you if the week gets booked again.

Is Keswick open for business?

Retail businesses are planning to open in mid-June and pubs, cafes, restaurants are making plans to open, like ourselves, in July. Capacity of bars etc will be different in order to comply with social distancing guidelines. Some café’s and bars are offering delivery and take away services now.

The supermarkets, garages and mini markets are all open.

Attractions and museums are also putting plans in place in order to be able to open safely once they are allowed. It is likely that capacity will be less and timed entrances and pre-booking of tickets will be required. The Theatre by the Lake has cancelled its summer season but may well be considering how they can re-open.

Can we get up into the fells?

Some National Trust and other car parks are open now and walking routes are mainly open. Some higher-level car parks remain closed. Walkers are being asked to follow social distancing guidance and consider avoiding high level routes at present to minimise the risk of having to call out Mountain Rescue, many of whom are key workers.

Update: 20th April 2020

We took the decision over the weekend to extend the closure of our holiday homes in Keswick until the end of June. If you have a booking with us up to this time, you will have received an email by now. Its tough for everyone but we are so looking forward to welcoming you back when it is safe to travel.

Here is how we have responded so far to the unprecedented challenges that the Covid-19 outbreak has laid down for us all.

We took the decision last weekend to close all of our properties in Keswick until at least the 4th June. We felt that it was incumbent on us to support the government’s advice regarding non-essential travel and social distancing and do what we could  to protect our local community from being exposed. Cumbria has one of the highest incident rates outside of London.

Of course, we are all now in ‘lockdown’ and visitors have been requested to isolate themselves in their own primary homes and not travel to the Lake District. We are monitoring the situation closely in order to make decisions about bookings in place with us that are due to start beyond the 4th of June. If you have a booking with us during June then we will make contact once we have a clearer understanding of the situation.

Where we have cancelled bookings, we are offering guests the opportunity to reschedule their booking, or we are providing a refund of monies paid.  If you have a booking for later in the year that you are concerned about, then please do get in touch, but bear with us if we don’t reply immediately, it has been an exceptionally busy time.

I sincerely hope that the current situation will improve quickly and that you will soon be able to visit Keswick again. When its safe to travel, we will welcome you back with open arms.

We will also have our newest properties, Fellview and Catbells in Hewetson Court, available for you to book.

For now, stay safe and well and hope to see you again before too long.  In the meantime, check out our Facebook page for beautiful pictures of the Lakes
